Until now, answering an agent from the keypad was something you turned on, agent by agent. From Orbtile 0.2.15 it's simply there: wherever an agent supports it, its permission requests and questions can be answered on the keys, with nothing to set up.
How it works
When a session asks for permission, its key glows and moves to the front.
- Hold the key. Focus view opens across all nine keys, with the request in the middle.
- Press Deny on key 7 once to deny.
- Or hold Allow on key 9 until its ring fills, about 0.6 seconds. Letting go early does nothing.
Questions with options work the same way: the options appear on the keys, you pick them, and you hold Send.
Built so a key never decides by accident
Making it always on meant making it safe to leave on. Allow needs a hold, so a quick press, or a sleeve brushing the keypad, never approves anything. The prompt on screen keeps working, and whichever answers first wins. If nobody answers, nothing is allowed: a timeout never decides. And while your Mac is locked, its displays are asleep or another user is active, the keypad refuses to answer at all, the same as the phone pad.
Fewer settings
The per-agent switches are gone, and so are a few others that only ever had one sensible value. Settings is shorter, and the keypad behaves the same way for everyone.
